Types of grants or donations
Any grant, gift or donation that is not part of the regular budget.
These funds - local, regional or national - includes, but is not limited to:
- Donations for Autism, Asperger, ADD, and other special needs resources
- Board of Education award grants
- Kiwanis, Rotary, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club education grants or donations
- PTA funds for teachers
- Foundation rewards for teaching excellence
- Title 1 grants for special needs resources
- Grants to expand a library
- Speech & hearing grants
- Church members' donations to provide books to a sister church
- Grants requiring 'in kind contributions'
- Gifted money to send books overseas with missionaries
- Community service project funds - Boy Scout, Girl Scout, YMCA, YWCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, youth groups or classes
- Local or national company education grants
- Collected donations to benefit children home, battered women's center, or other charities
- Donations for books for children's hospitals
- Grants for distance learning resources
- Grants for after school programs
- Beginning reading, leveled and guided reading, Head Start, reading center resource grants
- Laura Bush Education Grants
- Native American education grants
- Gifts to build libraries for correctional institutions
- Grants to language or literacy centers
- Public and private donations to teachers, districts, libraries, preschools, churches, charities, literacy groups, etc.
